Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
My Organized Wedding ("we", "us") helps couples plan their wedding together. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. The service is young and we will keep this page up to date as the product evolves.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address, used to sign you in via a magic link.
- Wedding details you enter — names, dates, venues, schedule, tasks, notes and website content.
- Guest details you add — names, RSVP responses, dietary notes and contact details you choose to store.
- Photos you or your guests upload.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends (e.g. IP address, device/browser type) and, if you make a payment, limited transaction data via our payment provider. We do not run advertising, and we never sell your details to wedding vendors.
- Usage statistics — only if you accept them. See “Analytics” below.
Why we use it
To provide and secure the service — creating your wedding workspace, sharing tasks, publishing your website, collecting RSVPs and keeping your account safe. Where required, our legal bases are the performance of our agreement with you, your consent, and our legitimate interest in running the service securely.
Guest information
When you add guests, you are responsible for having a reasonable basis to store their details and for handling them respectfully. We process that information on your behalf to run your wedding site and RSVPs. If a guest asks us directly, we'll help connect them with you or remove their data.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted processors purely to run the service: cloud hosting and database, an email provider for sign-in links and task notifications, a payment provider if you make a purchase, an error-monitoring service so we can see when the app breaks, and — only with your consent — Google Analytics. Each only receives what they need to perform their function.
If you choose Continue with Google to sign in, Google tells us your email address and name, and Google learns that you use this service. We ask for nothing beyond those two things — no access to your contacts, calendar, files or anything else. You can sign in with an email link instead and Google is never involved.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your wedding and account at any time and we will remove it, except where we must retain limited records for legal reasons.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected] and we'll respond promptly.
Emails we send
We email you sign-in links, and — if you're helping with a wedding — notifications about tasks assigned to you, approaching deadlines and problems someone has flagged. These are grouped into a single message rather than one per event, and we never email about something you've already seen in the app. Occasionally, when we add something to the app, we send a short note about what's new.
Those two kinds are controlled separately: turning off product updates leaves your task and deadline reminders working, and turning off notifications stops both. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link that works without signing in, and turning any of it off never removes anything from the app itself. We don't advertise, we don't sell your details, and we never email your guests — their addresses belong to the couple who invited them, not to us.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which parts of the service people actually use, so we know what to improve. It is switched off until you accept it — if you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
When it is enabled, Google receives page addresses, rough location derived from a truncated IP address, and a small set of milestone events (for example, that a wedding was created or an RSVP was received). We strip identifiers out of page addresses first, so wedding IDs, invite links and site names never reach Google. We never send names, email addresses, guest lists, RSVP contents or photos. Advertising and personalisation signals are disabled.
Error reporting
When something in the app breaks, we need to know — otherwise the only bugs we ever fix are the ones someone takes the trouble to report. We use Sentry, an error-monitoring service, to collect crash reports. A report contains the technical details of the failure: the error message, where in the code it happened, the page address, and your browser and operating system version.
If you are signed in, the report includes your account's internal ID — a random identifier, not your name or email address — so we can tell whether a problem is hitting one person or everyone. We never send names, email addresses, guest lists, RSVP contents, messages or photos in a crash report. Unlike analytics, this is not something you can switch off, because a service that cannot see its own failures is not one you should trust with your wedding.
Cookies
We use only what's necessary to keep you signed in and the app working (essential storage), plus analytics cookies if you accept them. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
